calculating victory points
I noticed in a scenario that my opponent recieved victory points when i lost no hard targets. He did have a shot at two hard units. In calculating victory points is a hit considered in the calculation?

Can you give us a little more detailed information? You do know that all units on the map, hard or soft, have a point value?
The only way to gain victory points is to exit units off the map from the exit hexes, kill enemy units, or take victory hexes.

If there is another way, I'd like to know it! :smoke:

cheers

RE: calculating victory points
You can also look at the Status Menu and select Strength to see exactly what you have on the battlefield and what you have lost.

RE: calculating victory points
I've been out on vacation. Sorry for the long delay in replying.

Thanks for the clarification..You know, one thing I did not do was go to check strength on the Status Menu report. I based my supposition on what I was watching on the screen during game play.

I could have lost a unit and not seen it happen during the gameplay. I was looking for a burning vehicle but did not see one. So I assumed the hard unit simply retreated after being hit and had not lost a unit.

What unit(s) did you lose?
If it was a truck, they leave no trace of their demise until the hex is "over occupied".
If the truck was loaded you'd have lost points for both?

The "strength" screen will tell you what you lost.
If you were in line of sight of a hex where any hard units were lost you would see the wrecks?

RE: calculating victory points
Not sure what was taken out. I looked at the Strength menu too many turns after the fact. Other units were lost since then. What probably happened was as you noted. I may have lost a transport vehicle.

Wow I didn't know that... thanks for that info RR!

Is there a way of monitoring where the truck wrecks are beside writing down the grid number? Does that same hex hinder road movement when your moving a stack of units totaling between 7 and 11 units? Thx again for your info...
