Like the title says, which moment in a game is the one you enjoy the most. For example, as you're just about to start a new offensive after regrouping your forces, assured that you will take the enemy by surprise. Or perhaps halting a particularly vicious enemy push against one of your vulnerable fronts? Maybe just trampling the enemy under your boots as you dominate in offensive maneuvering? Or the satisfying victory at the end of the game?

What type of player are you?

I'd post a poll but there are probably as many answers as there are players, just curious to see what might come out of this. :)

Oh and... Merry Christmas! Big Grin

I enjoy watching the PBEM replay. It is fascinating to see how someone who I never met in person reacts to my moves this probably not the sort of thing you are asking about.

What I like the most is when an opponent does something very unexpected, disrupts my plans, and causes me to completely readjust. I like getting my thinking cap on.

Yeah unexpected moves could be something new and exciting to learn from. Interesting! Hmmm is there a replay feature that lets you see each turn played through the whole game?

For me also it is counter attack, when your opponent slightly over extends himself and you can give him a bloody nose.

In my experience RickyB is the best at this, you just never know when he will strike back and the tension of playing with a opponent like that is great fun. :)

If you play large desert scenarios with explicit supply (the only way IMO) it is fun to build up your supply and rest your units while planning for the next move, although i know that will not be any fun for the "fight 24/7" guys. ;)

I find it is when you out whit a capable opponent on a huge scale, carving off an army rather than a regiment. Both times I have achieved this I have moved a large force a long distance so that the point of attack of attack is completely unexpected.

One of my favorite moments was playing as the Union in TS Battleground 2nd Bull Run. I slipped several large cavalry units into my opponent's rear. On the central ridge the Rebs had stacks of artillery and several stacked leaders with no escort. I got into position unseen from them, then pounced. Took 24+ guns in one charge, and the the other charge took the leaders. The leaders included Lee and Jackson. Stuart may have been there too. I think that would have ended the entire war...lol! :whis:

What I enjoy most is the initial analyzing and planning of an offensive operation and to (hopefully, there is always an enemy who makes your plan go wrong right from the beginning…) enjoy it unfold in the way I have planned.

May sound dull but I enjoy it when I manage to keep a coherent and tidy front line in complex operations. Can be offensive or defensive. If I have structure in my frontline and each regiment has a neatly defined sector and a company or batallion in reserve, I'm happy.

I also enjoy it when I draw a plan on a map and it works out in reality, especially in teamgames and when my predictions of what the enemy will do, and where he will do it are correct.
