M'44 Problems with Fury's VM version
While the only problem I have with Fury's VM edition of the historical campaign is that I dont' have art work for the 5th SS PZ, other in our team game only get a black screen when they open the scenario.

Does anyone have any insight into resolving this problem?

Black screen would suggest a missing MAP file (or Sub_map file)
Open the SCN file in a text editor - near the top it will refer to the Submap file being used. Make sure the guys have this file and it should be OK

On your SS - I assume you can see the 2D counters on the map and the 2D unit type Icons. All that is missing is IMAGES inthe unit Window.

If this is the case, then somehow you are missing those bmp files from the Unit folder or the OOB has renamed the SS-German to some other nation maybe.

Hard to say - but I would suggest that everyone involved be able to open the scn file you are playing as if in a mode vs the AI - and see the map and all the units and unit data correctly before proceeding. That might mean updating the VM art and the Scn file.

It could also be that Furys Scn file needs to be updated to the newest VM Mod maybe.

I am only guessing as I don't run any of the mods.

I'm having problems with this scenario mod.

I've updated minsk to v1.02
Installed VM minsk package
Installed Sgt Furys' scenario (from Glenn's website).

I can open the scenario myself without any problem.
However, when I try to open the file sent to me by my opponent, I only get the black screen.

What does this suggest?

black screen (one hex in the top left corner) = map file issue

That you can open the Scn at your end says you have the correct Scn Sub_Map and Map file which the submap calls.

That you get the map issue with the BTE file (which we can't read as a readable text file) says the scn file being used to create the BTE is NOT the same as the one used when you open the Scn file at your end.

The why part I can't explain - sorry.

RE: M'44 Problems with Fury's VM version
Perhaps we should ditch Fury's edition of VM scenario and just use VM's version.

What do you guys think?

RE: M'44 Problems with Fury's VM version
Not yet.

Let's try using a map file from one of us who it's working for - simply mail it to the folks who it's not working for and see if that fixes it.

Now to identify which map file it is...
