Peter;

The actual Lyric is:

But without him,
how would Hitler have condemned him at Dachau?

Not sure that clears the meaning up for you, but there you have it.

HiHi

Cheers Paul, I actually cottoned on to the real lyrics through YouTube (after all these years!), someone did a slide show of the song and "Dachau" flashed up (don't sound like that to me in either Buffys or Donovans version but ... ?)

But what I was actually interested in is where the Condemnation bit fits in, ie did Hitler actually condem the 'Universal soldier' (seems unlikely) or is it just a bit of artistic liscence to make the song work. I just wondered if anyone knew offhand. Will try Googleing it later if no-one comes up with the goodies.

All the Best
Peter

Hitler condemned the universal soldier to arrest, trial, imprisonment and death by assigning him guard duty at a concentration camp.

Thanx!

HiHi

Ahhh! makes sence now, the following line being "... without him Ceaser would have stood alone" adds to it.

Hey cheers for that Hawk you have cleared up a 40 year old puzzle for me :bow:

All the Best
