RE: The Great War 1914 -1918
June 1915 British army push along channel coast, allies capture bruge, and push fritz back .The Russian army has started to grow to very large, many field armies deployed in East Prussia . Koenigsberg looks safe in Russian hands town,s name being changed to new Petersburg. As for my Italians well they are having a hard fight in the mountains to their north.

What a great battle this is:-)

I am starting to get a good feel of what high command had to contend with . The big problem is breaking the trench line with out loosing thousands of men, but if you do break the line a small bit the troops breaking through cant push on .

where are my tanks !! lol

As I recall, Stosstruppen emerged first on the eastern front, sometime in 1917.

Well I'm sure the game reflects the problems the Russians will have in maintaining large armies after 1916. The military dictators H&L only need to hold on till then methinks.

RE: The Great War 1914 -1918
Stosstruppen, or infiltration tactics (also called Hutier tactics after the general first made successful use of them) were first used on a large scale in September 1917 breaking the siege of Riga. Large Stosstruppen units were used in the German spring offensive in 1918. So the Central Powers have some time to wait. von ege :smoke:

July 1915

East Prussia has fallen to the Armies of the Tsar, Armies now pushing foward into Germany.

My poor French are just about holding the line under great pressure, and Ypes has changed hands a few times as the British armies counter attacks and then gets bounced back.

Its been a bloody year of war.
