RE: The Great War 1914 -1918
April 1915
Konigsberg has changed hands many times , both sides has spent the last 6 months pounding each other in and around the streets. There is not much left of the town, with the Russians hold the center and northen side of the town. We are down to eating the dead to survive and in bad need of ammo.

RE: The Great War 1914 -1918
Being the capitol of the Kingdom of Prussia, the loss of the city had serious political repercussions, even a threat to the city, prompted the immediate transfer of 2 Garman army corps east, and eventually the failure of the 1914 German offensive in the west. Russian forces must be very ably commnaded to be still holding on the city! The Tsar gives General Samsonov the Ordre d' Merit and makes him a knight! von ege Big Grin

Here are some interesting pictures of Konigsberg then (pre-1939) and now, as Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave on the Baltic Sea. von ege :P

General Rennenkamp is also made a Knight of the Tsar's Ordnung des Heilige Rosenkranz for his heroic defense of Russia's Baltic provinces! Unfortunately, the poor Serbs must suffer the consequences of a slight shift in priorities. von ege :smoke:

RE: The Great War 1914 -1918
The Western Front is now criscrossed byn trenches with the odd Central Powers attacks.

On the Eastern Front the battle for Koenigsberg is still firece, with the Central Powers fighting to retake the homeland from the Russians !.

Austria Hungary is taking on both the Italians and the Serbs !.
