Turn-based vs Real time
Hello eveyone,

I played turn based game 15 years ago. As war games developed I transitioned to real time / weugo games. exp: close combat , combat mission and panzer command OWS.

recently was watching a documentry on WWII and realized that most of the modern generals are not practicing with fancy real time simulators. Instead they use/used regular maps with figures. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think turn based games is like chess and for the advanced level player of war games. A turned based wargamer already knows what the 2d icon is and what it represents. How much fire power the unit has, its moral and range.

the turn-based armchair general thinks on a operational level.

I like to think i have evolved to next level of playing wargames.

your thoughts would be appreciated. Forgive me because I am not a writer.

Thanks,

Gen. Solomon
