RE: Game versions
It's happened to me a couple of times in the past. I always just figured it was a bug in the game.

When you open a scenario click on help on the menu bar and then About Talonsofts EF2 cheers

RE: Game versions
I have noted that if you are playing EF2, sometimes modding results in German HTs being only worth 2VP per 1SP; rather than the correct 3VPs per 1SP. This has happened to me and I do not know how to undo it, short of a complete reinstall.

For example, you are the Jerries and your opponent kills three 6SP platoons of your HTs. You show your foe receiving only 36VPs for the kills. However, his correct reading indicates that the HT kills are worth 54VPs. This can add up in large scenarios with lots of HTs.

Just one explanation ...

If anyone knows how I can correct the VP value of German HTs without have to strip the game off my HD and reinstall, I would appreciate it.

Cheers,

Nort

RE: Game versions
The two different versions of EFII use different Platoon.oob and Platoon.obx files. This is where the VP values for each of the units are located.

Just grab all the Platoon.oob and Platoon.obx files for each nationality directly off the game CD and plonk them in the EFII folder.
If the CD isn't the latest version then just unzip the 1.02 patch over the top of the EF II folder, or an empty folder and move the relevant files from there.

The HT VP values wern't the only things changed between versions, there are alot of other unit values as well.

If you are applying Mods, you should really copy them first to an empty directory and then copy the original files that they are to replace to another directory.

Editing the Platoon.oob file directly is not advised, it wont matter anyway as the game uses the encrypted Platoon.obx file to read each units values. There is a compiler available that will convert .oob files to .obx files, but it is only really necessary if you are looking to create Mods yourself

Hope this helps
