I have unfortunate news. While Fhil and I were making decent progress on the scenario, my laptop recently died and is likely unsalvageable, certainly so while I am out in the Philippines for work. I will be returning to the states in July and would like to participate once more when I get back on my home computer, but I see no way to complete this scenario. I leave it up to the organizers, but as I would very much like to participate as much as I can, I would be happy for the chance to keep playing this scenario with Fhil once I return and submit our scores late, but before the conclusion of the next match.
As long as Fhil agrees, finish up the game, when you can. I can update the standings once you get the results in.
When I ran into a similar situation in Round 2 I was given this instruction - "As the tournament rules state, report unfinished games with the current Total Points." -so in the interests of fairness the same rules need to apply in Round 3. In round 2 I had to settle for a Draw when I'm quite confident I could have achieved at least a Minor if not the Major. If Fhil and Shipwreckedfoul want to finish the game for their own satisfaction that's all well and good but the game result should be where it stands on June 21st.
I don't care what the rules are, but they have to be consistent.
Steel God, you are, of course, right (and wise). There has to be equal and consistent application of the rules.
ShipwreckedFool, please report the game results, as is, at the end of the Round. You are free to complete the game outside of the tournament.
Round 4 will start shortly.
These tournaments take a long time. Making exceptions runs the risk of making tournaments last longer, and introducing confusion. It's just better to have a hard end date. In the grand scheme of things, a premature end to a game that skews Tournament Points to either side is not a big deal.
