Looking for apponent
Good day. Looking for an apponent to have a mid to large game of MBT. 1975 Germans vs Russians. Other things can be negotiated. Thanks, Volker

RE: Looking for apponent
G'day mate.

I actually thought that my SP days are over for good,but after a relatively long hiatus and on reading Your post it set me thinking about my first PBEM custom game against my mentor and a a vet here, John the low_bidder who enabled me to command a brigade sized Soviet task force in Germany back in good ol' 75 and I got a little nostalgic, thinking how I won a marginal victory then.Talk to You about the details tommorow if we both still feel like, alright? Should that be the latest version of the game? I have no experience of that at all.Ought to be a refreshing run. Could be fun, however I think I'd prefer a medium sized setup..

RE: Looking for apponent
Alright Volker, I really wouldn't like to keep you waiting so here's what I have just gathered;

Found the old game directory, updated the installation, loaded the map sent etc. In April '75 35.ooo points enabled me to assemble a complete Soviet combined brigade combat team full with organic support units, recon elements,tanks and APCs of varied sorts and still had a little under 20 000 points left.I am affraid that would mean ending up commanding an entire division, even if a (-) one - that's much more than I could be possibly able and want to handle. It's just too tedious and cumbersome albeit an ambitious endeavour I must admit. It's just I think I might be overwhelmed with the task even if that was my only PBEM and with the sheer number - not mentioning the scale - of my commitments I can't offer the ammount of time and effort and then - a turn rate necessary -to make it work on the most basic level.

I recalled that SP needs lots of house rules to be agreed beforehand - proportion of elite troops, ATGMs, availability of ammo resupply, the use of area fire, composition of the subnits and units to make it kind of a realistic attempt at a tactical study and not a science fiction encounter where fiction prevails over the science etc.

I am affraid I must pass it on to somebody else ready to commit more. Good luck.

Hi. Thanks for the response. I know it is a little large but thought it might be fun. I'm hoping there are still some takers for a game.
Thanks, Volker

I'm interested on this scenario: are you still available to play?

Good day. I'm going to have to decline just for the fact I have to many commitments right now and I'm having a hard time keeping up with them. So if you could give me a little time we could possibly give er a go.
Thanks, Volker cheers
