b_Exclamation Mark  Possible Scoring Change - Poll
Commanders

There has been discussion re. a change in the way the points are allocated for a loss when the finished game is scored on the SP ladder.

Here is Vesku's option which has some support so far.

50 points Overwhelming Victory to the Winner
40 points Decisive Victory to the Winner
30 points Medium Victory to the Winner
20 points Minor Victory to the Winner
10 points Draw to both players
8 points Minor Loss of a scenario
6 points Medium Loss of a scenario
4 points Decisive Loss of a scenario
2 points Overwhelming Loss of a scenario

The main idea is to reward a smaller loss with more points than a large loss.
The win points stay the same as we don't need a ladder full of Generals in six months eh!

The poll options are;
Vesku's system.
No Change
Keep looking for a better option.

Please make you vote...it is your ladder after all.

Cheers
Walrus

It is interesting that you will actually get less points for losing a D or OW battle in this version then current (4/2 to current 5).

I am fine either way, so I won't vote as I am truly 50/50. However, my concern is how many votes do we need to make this happen. If only 5 people vote, and 4 say change is that enough? Myself, I would have reservations about it.

But with that said, this isn't really a big change as only the bottom two levels of loss are changing.

RE: Possible Scoring Change - Poll
It makes no difference to me. I turn OFF the V-flags more often then not. Look at them in the beginning and a few turns before the end. I figure if I can destroy my opponents forces, I'll be able to pick up the flags at the end. Unless he avoids destruction long enough to make getting the flags impossible. If that is the case I don't deserve to win and sneaking a few flags seems unsporting.
That's kool too, after all, it's just a game.
If the Cammo group had added the variety of flags that Matrix has in W@W, then I would pay them more attention. Points per turn and exit the map flags add a lot to the game.

The number of people that must vote to effect any decision is a tough question. I think that there are some guys that play and operate in the background and only visit the site when they need a new opponent or something of the sort. For instance, the only games that I have played / am playing, since I joined two months or so ago, is against Seahawk and Zandhaas. None of them ever post on the forum. Seahawk has done some posting but I haven't seen anything from him for quite some time. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we are sending turns backwards and forwards like crazy. I also know that they are playing against some other opponents at the same time. So they are definitely active players.
We need to maybe let all our opponents know about the pole, as many are maybe totally unaware of the discussion and the resulting poll. Next time any of us send a turn to somebody, just include a remark in the e-mail that they should have a look at it and vote, or what do you guys think?

RE: Possible Scoring Change - Poll
After looking at the above system again I only see one real change, the loser may get up to 3 more or less points for a loss depending on level. Other then that, the points awarded for a win are the same as they are now so my question is why bother?
