RE: People Still Play This?
I still play AGEOD games and like the system.

I am trying to find opponent to test Wars of Napoleon game with house-rules.

Looking for a British/Coalition player to try out these of house-rules for WoN 1vs1 PBEM.

Deep knowledge of AGEOD games/game engine and/or Napoleonic Wars is preferred.

Control over the Major Nations

Great Britain or France control all other Major Nations in the game, Russia, Austria, Prussia, Spain and the Ottomans.

Great Britain will always control Russia, Austria and Prussia, it can also gain control of Spain and the Ottomans during the game.

France can only control Spain and the Ottomans and can lose their control over to Britain during the game.

Great Britain and France can have Limited or Full Control over the other Major Nations.

Limited Control is the minimum level of control that you get from the game start over the Major Nations if they are not part of the Coalition/Britain or Alliance/France.

Limited Control allows Construction Mode, purchasing of Replacements, issuing orders, moving and manipulating Stacks within your own territory, moving fleets between your own harbors, issuing of Military Reforms, Decrees and the Regional Decisions cards.

Limited Diplomatic Actions

You can only send, accept or reject the following Diplomatic Actions when having Limited Control over the the Major Nation.

Accept Entry in Alliance/Coalition

Propose/Accept Entry in an Defensive Treaty to a Minor Nation

Propose to Receive an Expeditionary Force/Fleet to a Minor Nation

Propose State Visit

Propose Trade Agreement

Forge Casus Belli

Offer Peace

A Major Nation under Limited Control that is invaded by either Coalition/Alliance is moved under Full Control of the opposing Coalition/Alliance.

Note that Scripted Events can bring Major Nations under Full Control before the Relationship Rating has reached the required level for the "Offer Entry in an Alliance/Coalition" Diplomatic Action.

Full Control is the highest level of control you get trough an "Offer Entry in an Alliance/Coalition" Diplomatic Action or trough scripted event (for example Russia and Austria in 1805).

Full Control allows the use of the Construction Mode, purchasing Replacements, issuing orders, moving and manipulating Stacks/Fleets without limitations, all Diplomatic Actions and the issuing of Military Reforms, Decrees and the Regional Decisions cards.

When a Scripted Peace Treaty is activated it must be played and accepted by both sides in that turn.

Note that by default the game assumes that Coalition/Britain and Alliance/France are always at war.

When a Major Nation as a member of the Coalition/Britain agrees to a Peace Treaty (scripted or using the diplomatic interface) as the losing party against Alliance/France it must exit the Coalition by ending their membership in the Coalition using the in game diplomatic interface but remains under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

The Coalition/British player must release Expeditionary Forces from the Major Nation in question to the Alliance/French player when requested trough the Diplomatic Interface but otherwise the Major Nation remains under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

The Expeditionary Force requested by the Alliance/France from the Major Nation in question is limited to a maximum size of 14 line infantry elements, 2 cavalry elements, 6 field artillery elements.
This size is an average based on the historical treaties with Austria and Prussia.

When a Major Nation under French/Alliance Full or Limited Control agrees to a Peace Treaty (scripted peace treaty or using the diplomatic interface) as the losing party against the Coalition/Britain the Major Nation in question is transferred under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

Major Nations under France/Alliance control (Spain or Ottomans) must agree to a peace treaty offered by the Britain/Coalition after their NM (National Morale) is <75 and their Capital is occupied by Coalition forces.

Note that Spain has the in game National Modifier "Fanatiscm" and occupation of their capital has little effect on their will to resist invasion, invasion of Spain proper also triggers the Spanish Army Reforms.

France must play all Annexation Events (Hannover, Oldenburg, Tuscany, Papacy, Catalonia and Grand Empire) in order to win the game.

This rule basically guarantees a Peninsular War as the Catalonia annexation assumes war between Spain and France, the Tuscany and Papacy annexations degrade the Relationship Rating,-100 (hate) to +100 (very friendly), between Spain and France working as as a lead up to the conflict.

Recommended game mechanic related rules for the off map boxes.

Merchant squadrons can only be stacked together in the trade boxes if escorted by a warship squadron, then the limit is 3 merchant squadrons.

This will make the naval game much more active and historical, the merchant squadrons represent thousands of historical merchantmen.

Only Britain can afford to create their historical convoys system and escort ships.
But it will require using resources and Britain will need to keep watch for French/ Alliance raiders.

Naval batteries cant be placed outside of the fortress/city in the off map boxes.

But they can be separated to separate stacks to create independent batteries within the same fortress/city.

This will help especially Britain taking out the French/Alliance colonies without having to make unhistorical landings under heavy fire in the beaches.
