I am not sure which version of Gettysburg you have (HPS, JTS, WDS) however, from the WDS store page you can easily see what the graphics look like these days.

I too, am a 2D guy however, the 3D graphics are leaps and bounds above what we had for years.

We also have a 3rd Party mod section covering just the ACW series.

Just a heads-up, that some of older mods may not work 100% on the newly released WDS versions.
