Is it still avalible?
This is what I have, IIRC, unzip into the John tillers Campaign Series folder, it will make it's own folder Cold War.
Cold War Final
Hey, Warhorse!
You may not remember (or recognize) me, but it's Maestro, from WDS. We had an exchange lately about some classic Squad Battle mods, and you helped me a great deal. Thanks for that once again!
It seems, however, that I have once again managed to get all fumbled up in yet another conundrum involving mods. You see, for some reason I'm unable to explain, I simply can not get the mod to work. I've tried downloading and extracting the files from both your link and the Blitz's own link, I tried running both .exe files (cw and Cold War), but to no avail. Running Cold War.exe gives me nothing at all, even when trying to run it as administrator. Meanwhile, regardless of where I download it from, the same error message pops up when running cw.exe (hundreds of them actually, so much so that I can only close the application through the Task Manager):

The only thing that changes from message to message is the name of the .bmp file at the end. It seems to me that the .exe file is looking for the mod's files at that adress and, upon not finding them (since they are obviously not there, and I also haven't got the slightest clue why it is looking for them there in the first place), displays the error messages. I must admit I find the whole ordeal quite perplexing, especially since all other mods for the game are working just fine. I have, for instance, installed and played the World War One mod without running into any issues whatsoever.
Would you be so kind as to to lend me your wisdom once more in these trying times? If anyone else has also run into this problem and just so happens to know what to do, feel free to chime in! All help is welcome.
Cheers,
QuoWarrior/Maestro

RE: This post for Cold War download!!
I downloaded it from the Blitz. Unzipped it to my desktop, then went into the folder and found the CW.exe file and clicked. It said my windows (win 11) needed something for dxdiag installed, I said OK. I had a small issue after that, so I closed it and clicked the exe again. No issues after that. Played a scenario for a little while, no errors.
I suggest you try unzipping it to your desktop. Shouldn't matter, I wouldn't think, but maybe...
Good luck,
Dave

RE: This post for Cold War download!!
Hey, Dave!
Thank you for taking your time to help me! I admit I hadn't yet tried to unzip the mod to my desktop (I always did it to the Campaign Series' folder), so I took my chances. Unfortunately, however, I had the exact same results as the previous times. I'm truly mystified as to why this is happening, really!
Anyhow, thank you once again for the assistance!
Cheers,
