Hi gamers. Would like to share with you a program called FRAPS, which stands for Frames Per Second or FPS. In simple language, this program determines how many FPS your computer is processing. The number shows up in the left hand corner of my puter screen. Some of you may have noticed that when you scroll up, down or sideways on a JTCS map that it may not be a smooth scroll especially on a very large map. I still have problems when designing maps where and when I am finished scrolling, the the map over laps itself and I have to click on the map to straighten it out. The maximum FPS that my puter can achieve with JTCS is ( 9 ) which is very low and I have a 4GHrz micro processor and duel ATI 6900 video cards for online gaming. When my last pute had a melt down I was playing JTCS on a small laptop and when I scrolled the map the screen actually turned white until I ended the scrolling. When I play online games like Call of Duty United Offensive the FPS is around 91, or a game like Left 4 Dead caps out at 60. The game manufacturer determines the max FPS the game will play at from what I have read. So I can only assume that Martix caped out JTCS at 9 FPS. So maybe Matrix may want to adjust this number for better scrolling purposes and map designing.
I have attached a link to the FRAPS site if anyone is interested.
Cheers
Joe aka Troll
