The DOMINATION EUROPA Report
Here's a little snapshot of the ongoing, fun free-form DOMINATION EUROPA tourney that's been running over at the FGM Clan for quite a few months now. It's been great fun so far!

We begin our overview on the Western Front:

Operation Sea Lion was a success and after a small setback, when a second support beachhead west of Portsmouth was crushed by a British counterattack, Lord Bane's armies have been on the rampage across southern England. After recently capturing Portsmouth, his forces are now attacking Plymouth, Birmingham and attempting to cross the Thames with the aim of isolating London.
In France, Canadian forces have been unable to expand the Normandy Beachhead towards Cherbourg and are now facing a serious German counterattack from the direction of Caen. Will this be another Allied catastrophe after the failed landings Norway and the south of France?

North Africa has been a more successful front for the Allies, with Randy "The Desert Devil's" armour tactics proving virtually unstoppable. The confusing series of battles continue, but it looks like the Allies are well set to isolate and defeat the German forces in the Tobruk sector.

The Syria/Iraq/palestine sector has been one of the most hotly contested. After the annexation of mainland Vichy France, German troops are now engaged in this theatre... but after some early Axis successes, the Allies are now launching sustained offensives towards Damascus and Beirut.
The long and gruelling battle for Cyprus continues as the Axis invasion of that island still hangs in the balance...

In the central Mediterranean, the Allies have finally begun their break out from the Salerno beachhead towards Naples after repulsing a vicious German attack.
Meanwhile Lord Bane is preparing his elite airborne troops for the imminent invasion of the British fortress island of Malta... the attack will commence once naval and air resources have been freed up from the Cyprus battles.

We start the review of the Estern Front begins in the north on the Finland/Leningrad front. The German and Finnish troops have made limited gains after heavy see-saw fighting and are advancing on Leningrad from the north-west. After an initial failure, German troops have launched another amphibious landing on the Baltic coast and are currently fighting against Bootie's naval infantry to establish a beachhead.

The opening battles have frankly been a disappointment for the Axis forces with significant Soviet defensive successes or Axis advances ending in stalemate or being bogged down in long, hard slogfests.
Russian counter-offensives have penetrated deep into East Prussia and fierce fighting continues with desperate German attempts at evicting the invaders. The shining light for the Red Army in these battles has been the virually unbeatable MGK.

Much the same story in the south of the Russian Front -- fierce back and forth battles all along the Romanian border, but it looks like the German armies have regained the initiative... Chris Martino is currently launching the third attempt at capturing Odessa, which is staging a heroic defense. Russian forces are also fighting hard to establish a beachhead on the Romanian coast to outflank the Axis advances. One Axis success has been establishing a beachhead on the eastern Black Sea coast near Maikop and attacks are currently underway to expand this foothold. For the record, an earlier German beachhead on the Crimean coast was crushed by Nort's forces
