Introduction - Spledge - 05-09-2016

Hi,

I'm new to the board.

I've enjoyed SP in its various forms for over a decade, though only have played a few PBEMs.

Currently running winSPWW2 v9 enhanced (w/ secure features).

I'm interested in engaging folks in non-gamey PBEMs and very intrigued by the notion of playing multi-player (team) games and tourneys, however I've never tried the latter two.

Cheers!

Hey Spledge, welcome to the SP ladder.  Hopefully you will find an opponent or two to play against shortly but in the meantime there are lots of documents for you to check out in the sticky section above the posts.  Are you only playing WW2?

Activity is a little slow around here right now so persevere.

Hi Weasel,

Yes, currently winSPWWII is all that I have band-width and an affection for currently.

What "stickys" are you referring to?

RE: Introduction - Weasel - 05-10-2016

The HINTS/TIPS listed directly above your post under "Important Threads", I just call them stickys because I "stick" them there so they don't disappear.

I am not into ww2 myself, just finished a game and will stick to MBT. You do know you can get MBT for windows free eh, over at Shrapnel games?

Hiya Spledge!

I'm up for a game or two. Let me know if you have any preferences - size of the game, country etc - and I can set it up. Smile

1000-1200pts

Map size can be any, low limit of 20x20 for a concentrated battle or a much larger one for a recon/scouting/mobile style engagement.

Nothing gamey - no:  iron fist, unusual numbers of infantry AT or snipers units.

It be nice to know up front if we're going to allow or not modifying company compositions.

Seems like folks, when limiting artillery, discuss % of total points devoted to arty or the number of total indirect capable (excluding tubes used for direct fire exclusively. example: mortar tubes in support squads that can not be assigned to indirect fire.) tube limits.

I'm familiar with USA, Germany or the Brits and would prefer using one of those as I'm still building my PBEM experience/confidence.

I'm also running winSPWW2 v9 with the secure game play feature (i.e. no turn reloads)

What are your thoughts Wulfir?? Helmet Wink

With about a 1000 points I'd say a smaller size map...

Realistic forces sounds good to me.

Do you have all PBEM slots open?
