Map Editor SCROLLING ISSUES - Dan Caviness - 07-23-2012

Hello Fellow H2H'ers/Blitznards/Gentlemen Warriors:

I think this has been discussed before (by me...I'm necroposting the topic...lol...:) but I'm hoping someone has found a way to cure the scrolling issues in MAP EDITOR.

When you scroll over your map, and click on a hex, any hex, it's not exactly where the program has drawn it, and there is a constant "realignment" needed in order to create maps.
Accurate maps that is, the type you Blitz'ers have come to enjoy, demand, and did I mention enjoy?

I've tried turning "Auto Scroll" OFF with no results.
I know my Windows 7 / 64 Bit is causing the problem, perhaps there is a way to run in an emulator mode?

I usually change views to get the on screen map portion redrawn, which does correct the misalignment, but it's a pain.

Regards,

Dan

This is a common W7 64 bit issue, there's a few threads regarding this I believe...

A quick fix is to locate the map editor exe, right click to view its Properties, then to disable the Desktop something, Desktop Composition? Sorry, I am not at my PC right now.

That should fix it in most of the cases.

Found the thread, here's what Jason recommends as settings for a W7 64bit rig: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=57843

Again, disabling Desktop Composition seems to do the trick alone in most cases.

Thanks Petri!

I'll give it a try this morning.
First I'll try disabling desktop composition, then if needed I'll use Jason's thread.

Regards,

Dan

Worked like a charm...mapmaking resumed.
Thanks again,
