Concerning: ** Fortress stirring the pot - Scud - 01-03-2011

The scenario for January, 2011 is ** Fortress stirring the pot.

NOTE: This scenario, as of this date, is still undergoing playtesting in the head-to-head area. Info can be found here: https://www.theblitz.club/h2h_productions/Campaign-Series/%2A%2A-Fortress---Stirring-the-Pot/action=details_scenario&sid=277

CORRECTION -- since this scenario is still undergoing playtesting, it's been decided to change January's pick to **Bitter Kuuterselka. Please use the new thread for discussion of that scenario.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave

Not sure why we are discussing a scenario that is still in the testing phase. Seems to be a duplication of effort?. Just asking.

RE: Scenario of the Month - Jan 2011: ** Fortress stirring the pot - Scud - 01-03-2011

In all honesty I didn't realize until after I'd flipped the coin and set everything up and then couldn't find the scenario in the database. I really didn't want to do it all over again.

What does everyone else think? Not too late to go with the other one.

I think it should be released for general play first; but that's just me.

RE: Scenario of the Month - Jan 2011: ** Fortress stirring the pot - Herr Straße Laufer - 01-03-2011

I think you should wait and play the other scenario. :dunno:

"Stirring" is in it's final version and awaiting the conclusion of one test match that could put it over the top toward H2H approval. :smoke:

Hopefully "Stirring" will be approved by next month. Until then there is always "**Baring Their Teeth" if you need another option? ;)

cheers

RE: Scenario of the Month - Jan 2011: ** Fortress stirring the pot - Scud - 01-04-2011

Thanks guys. Let's go with **The Bitter Kuuterselka this month.

I'll set up a new poll later today.

My humble thanks for choosing the Kuuterselka scenario. I definitively would like to get feedback on how it plays out.

The reason I did not put it on H2H process was that there are some glitches in Finnish units. Infantry cannot ride tanks, and the Jaeger units are modeled as SMG units although they should be more like Panzergrenadiers: just a bit beefed up rifle units.

I put up a very very slightly updated version to scenario database.

With version 2.0, there are 25 turns instead of 22, and Russian minor and major victories are just a tad easier to achieve. Let me know how it plays out!

Otherwise, no changes to it.

I put up an earlier thread to advertise the scenario. It can be found here: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=57030&highlight=kuuterselka

Unfortunately, I do not know of any English books on Finnish front for Continuation war for back ground reading. Winter War is rather well documented, but it is a different era compared to events in 1944.

EDIT: I was a playtester for **Baring Their Teeth and warmly recommend the scenario. I played it only as an Axis player, was a load of fun. Until those KV-1s showed up, of course.
