Speed "T-80" in NGP^85. - shortreengage - 07-19-2007

T-80 has speed =14, when Chieftain = 14, Leopard=18.

T-80 it is equipped by the turbine, for what have nicknamed it " the jet tank ".
When English tanks differ raised armour to the detriment of speed.

If necessary I shall give link with the proof of a maneuverability and speed T-80.

But even the first sight in WinSPMBT 3.5 specifies high-speed qualities T-80.

T-80

Chieftain

Leopard - 2

T-80 does have great speed but look at its range, it can go fast but cant go anywhere, its range is lower than the top nato tanks and therefore i dont believe should have a higher rating, and yes the leopard is a little over rated in that category but still higher than the t-80, not only is it quick but it has good range.

Heres some specs for u off off global security, T-80 speed Road/offroad, 70/48 range 335km, Leopard 2 road/offroad 72/45, range 550km, big difference. Note that the T-80 does have a range of 600km with extra tanks in that big barrel of gas on the back but i personally wouldnt want that on the back of my tank driving around in west germany during a war, just one more thing to kill me.

Here still the characteristic of tank M1 Abrams. Link.
At it and speed is less and Cruising range, but in NGP^85 the American tank is faster than T-80.

That link says 275 mile range not km, if my calculations r correct thats 442 km. And the speed listed there is in mph 42/30 mph road off road comes to be 68/48kph. The T-80 is a solid tank but i dont rate it any higher than the chieftan just as the t-72 is like a M-60.

You should also note that unit quality factors into movement allowance. For example, an A-quality unit will have 20% movement bonus over the base unit type. Generally, the quality levels of the NATO forces are higher than those of the WP. So if you're looking at the movement allowance of the actual units (as opposed to the unit types in the editor) that is another factor to keep in mind.

It is not much more.

I wish to specify.

Only that that at T-80 external fuel tanks does this tank such sluggish ?

Still a question, what scale of a battlefield in NGP^85 (size Hex in meters)?

If 1 hex=1000m then has no value that at T-80 external fuel tanks.
For time allocated on fight to not pass distance in 300-500 km.

And still, it is better to have dumped external fuel tanks (in fact fight does not go on all way of movement and damage of an external fuel tank does not threaten fighting capacity of the tank), than to be sluggish "Chieftain" (identical speed in NGP^85!) and never to catch up T-80.

T-80 is a fast tank !

Hexes are 1 mile in NGP 85, or about 1600m

1 hex=1 mile not 1km
unless this i'm agree with you about the T80 it's a fast tank .
And i don't understand how an elite crew of a chieftain could run their tank faster than it could?

RE: Speed "T-80" in NGP^85. - shortreengage - 07-20-2007

Speed "Chieftain" = 48 km/h on road.
In game at Chieftain with T-80 identical speed ! Eek
