Battle Finished - Greybeard - 06-09-2007 Ahh,, finally after a brutish 18 months, the game between Czerpak and myself has finally finished..and I can put one of my v2.51 installs out to pasture :) Result?? - Draw!! Maciej, - hat's off to an enjoyable experience.. looking at the map afterwards, I think if you had more transport for your troops, or if we had played another 15-20 turns, my exhausted Swedes would have fallen to the horde of Norwegian infantry that was still hiding in wait of a good ambush.. only by having adequate transports available was I able to stem the tide in the south  .. my artillery was down to the last few rounds (only 5 had any ammo remaining) the remainder were standing idle while the crews were out looking for rocks to throw in case your troops got past the AT screen..Looking forwards to our next match! If I was to post the reult it would be Steve's victory. BTW it was "no flags" game, and proved to be very enjoyable. As usuall I made serious purchase mistakes, like not enough transports (like Steve said), way too less arty, and last but not least, to many Norwegians, to less Poles. Which is strange. I would expect scandinavians to fight much batter, but they werent a match for Poles if we talk rally. Poles fought on and on, while Norwegians didnt. Could have something to do with a fact Poles were mostly elite troops, Norwegians were homeguards, but I doubt that was the reason LOL Anyways, good and looooong fun that was. Thanx, Steve. RE: Battle Finished - Greybeard - 06-09-2007 Well, I don't know about winning.. final score was greybeard +300 points.. and I lost more armor (especially APC's), and at least a company more in troops.. I have another game running with Stonefire.. WinWW2 v1.0 It started in may 2006.. but we only have about 2 turns left.. not sure how that will turn out.. spain vs spain 1938.. it's been a civil war battle with russian armor vs russian armor.. I think a draw perhaps with a slight edge in points to Stonefire.. We'l see soon enough! Greybeard |
