Windows Vista - Copper - 01-18-2007

RE: Windows Vista - KTN - 01-18-2007

To much money for my blood! It's going to have to wait when I get my laptop.
At this point I don't think it worth it!

RE: Windows Vista - RedDevil - 01-18-2007

Wife gets it for 10 bucks when it comes out as part of package deal with her new laptop.. Will let you know soon as it is released how it is..

RE: Windows Vista - Copper - 01-18-2007

Cheers Randy... I thought it was already out in the US... must be a worldwide end of month launch then.

RE: Windows Vista - KTN - 01-18-2007

Randy, what version will she be getting?

RE: Windows Vista - Copper - 01-18-2007

Im just going for the premium home edition..... I'd rather have the disks than a simple upgrade.

Wonder if Mrs RedDevil is getting the full set... if so thats a bargain for $10

RE: Windows Vista - RedDevil - 01-18-2007

it's the actual disks as far as i know of home premium.. upgrade tho

we pay 10 bucks for S& H which is a rip off..

S & H...?

Bootie

RE: Windows Vista - McIvan - 01-18-2007

shipping and handling perhaps?

Bootie, apparently it needs 2 gig of RAM to run decently so hope you've got a recent PC. I have 2 gig on mine, and its reasonably quick, but I still can't see any compelling reason to shift to Vista until such time as I get a DX10 video card, which won't be anytime soon....maybe in a coupla years.

From what I've heard, the Home Premium edition is the appropriate one to get...the straight Home edition is not worth buying.

Most likely I'll get it the next time I buy a new PC.

RE: Windows Vista - KTN - 01-18-2007

You also need to beef up your PSU to run those new DX10 video cards.
