IMHO, the tournament outcome has already been decided? My shameful and horrible play versus Rob (Smedley) certainly contributed to Rob's forminable lead - not to take anything away from Rob's superb play!

I'm playing for bonus points and the badge now.

RE: No Tournament for Old Men - Montana Grizz - 11-16-2009

Rob has done a great job through 3 rounds, but whether he is the winner at this point is open to question.

Mike - There are three badges noting 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, so you may still have something to play for other than points and the badge.

Ok Pat. Thanks for the clarification!

RE: No Tournament for Old Men - Montana Grizz - 11-16-2009

We have nine votes at this time in favor of having the final contest between the enter-divisional contestants ignore their point total within their division.

So, the final round will be a fresh start for each contestant. 1st will play 1st and 2nd play 2nd etc. with no regard to how they have scored in their respective divisions.

I think this is the most fair way to finish the tournament. It disregards what may have been placing someone in an easier division and really determine whom is the best among the competitors.

RE: No Tournament for Old Men - Montana Grizz - 11-25-2009

John Given has been having problems with his internet service and has to record his moves to a disc and then travel an hour to his mother's house and use her computer to send his moves.

And still, John has been able to stay well within the time limit for our tournament rounds. He is indeed a dedicated participant.

John has informed me that he intends to start round three while still playing round two. This will help pick up the pace in our tournament and I personally thank John for making all these extra efforts.
