All the German Cders are kindly requested to give an update of their battles.

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - Pvt. Sofronije - 09-21-2009

Turn 27 of 30

Lost another 50mm ATG. Fired two shots at the T-34 from the flank (range 150m) and got two track hits without immobilizing it. Then the tank turned to face my gun and blasted me away with 2 rounds...

So far it is 2 Light tanks : 2 50mm ATGs

Right now enemy is rolling his T-34s down the street just south from the train station without the infantry support. Right in front of my infantry... Few units that got into range scored some hits but without damage and now are under heavy fire.

I'm successful in keeping his infantry at bay but the tanks are now a problem. My best bet was destroyed within the seconds and the last ATG is far from there defending the northern approach. From that side we managed to repel the attack by destroying one light tank and forcing other to retreat.

There are just three more turns to go and I'm sure that enemy won't be able to do anything significant. Those T-34s will probably be forced to retreat for the next phase because they are in the middle of my troops without theirs infantry support. But those ATGs will be missed!

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - Glider - 09-21-2009

We exchanged just the setup turns, no reply since then.

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - Balkan Warrior - 09-21-2009

Hi to all! Hope all is well with you!
My battle is over with very few casuaties on either side! I defended the Factory to the South, and the Russian Commander attacked north of the Train Station, so our forces never really met to engage. I lost one Kubelwagon, one truck that I sent on recon to "find the enemy", as well as a couple of troops. Russians lost one Light Tank to an ATG of ours, and a couple of troops as well to MG and mortar Fire. The Ruskies sent Anti Rifle Teams to all the flags to gain control of them, with the remainder of the force attacking north of the train station. It was a strange battle of "Sitting and Waiting"! Patience was a virtue! Good that I'm an old "Deer Hunter"! :)!

Me and CW finished quite a while ago, did you not get our final file ratzki?

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - cargol - 09-22-2009

I think that ,as long as Glider's battle didnt even start after Glider's opponent being MIA ,we should proceed to the next phace.
Also Ratzki should stress to all the players that once they are comitted to a battle they should finish it.

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - cargol - 09-22-2009

Our forces during the previus phace destroyed 9 Russian Tanks(5 T34 and 4 T70) and managed to hold against the Russian attack.
Our losses were 4 AT Guns and few infantrymen.
I think that we are starting to win the battle of attrition in the meaning that we are destroying more equipment than the one that will be purchased during the next phace by the Reds.

RE: Germans ONLY "Little Saturn" No Russians Pls - Pvt. Sofronije - 09-22-2009

The battle is over!

Our casualties:

126 men (4 destroyed squads, 1 Pltn HQ destroyed, and heavy casualties among some of the other platoons)

2 MG34s destroyed, 1 MG34 immobile (1 man left)

1 80mm mortar KO (crew is OK)

2 50mm ATGs KO (both crews have 3 survivors out of 5)

Enemy casualties:

about 8 inf sqds destroyed

1 T-70 KO

1 T 70 Abandoned

1 T-34 KO

In the last turn one of the T-34s (the dead one) fired a round on full sqd in the factory (10 men) and killed them all with a single shot! Eek I think that I was also unlucky with that 2nd ATG I've lost. I couldn't imagine more desirable situation to open fire on T-34 with a 50mm ATG. Close range, firing into the side of a tank. Two hits (gun and track) but nothing! Numerous grenades were also falling on those T-34s while they were parading down the street, but we only managed to destroy one of them.

I'm quite beaten but I'm still on my position, and the train station is in our hands. I think that those 2 T-34s will be forced to withdraw. And besides, the outcome in this sector is the average of the two battles (Balkan Warrior's and this one), so I think we're still standing good in this sector. Reds will have to spend more time and resources to get this station. :stir:

Hi Mr. Chuck! Glad to see our defense worked so well! We both held the objectves! You were "Unlucky" for sure since the Russian Tanks came in the fields of fire of two of the ATGs! So is life sometimes! Have a good one!

Well done Herr Chuck!!
