There's two companies within the East Front Soviet OOB that point to a Russian Mine Engineer platoon (P00965) instead of a Soviet Mine Engineer platoon (P24965). OOB Editor will not crash or show errors, as it can find the Russian platoon obx file too... In fact, it is true for West Front Soviet company24.oob as well. Good call indeed  Here's a fixed company file. Just drop it to both East Front and West Front folders. Those with the mod, please disable it, drop these platoon05 and platoon12 files into .../John Tiller/MODS/EF - East Front Forgotten Battles/East Front -folder. Allow for files to be replaced. Then enable again. Thanks! Edit: this fixes a bug in the fire cost for the new Stu-40 platoons. It appears in the org file, sets up fine on the board in the scenario file but when you go to move it in a running game it crashes giving three seperate errors: 1. Failure to creat bitmap surface C:Matrix Games/John Tiller's Campaign Series/East Front running 3d09 bmp 2. Failure to stretch bitmap surface 3. Failure to creat bitmap surface C:Matrix Games/John Tiller's Campaign Series/East Front running 13d09 bmp I have the 1.31 patch installed per the instruction on the forum. Thanks Ivan the Big

From the symptoms it seems either the bitmap or .bit is missing for the unit in question, and adding it will fix the issue. Good call, I think you again spotted something that is broken in the West Front too. The 1942-1953 version of mortars did not have the bitmaps there either it seems... Here are the two P09102 graphic files, drop them to both East Front and West Front folders. For EF:FB follow the disable-add files-enable procedure again as with company files too. Thanks! Maybe there are other files missing too? Wanna email me the scenario files, I can have a look too. RE: "East Front: Forgotten Battles" Out Now - Get Yours While Supplies Last! - Crossroads - 01-27-2013 I had a look at the Platoon09.oob, and actually P09102 unit uses P09101 bitmaps too. So that was not the issue contrary to my previous post. And, another search revealed it is my fault after all. Duh. What is missing from the Mod Download were the "running man" bitmaps of both the French and Brits. Which is what the error message you posted said. Duh. Again. Attached is a new zip file, I hope this fixes the issue. I removed the download in the previous post, as it is of no use. |
