Can you poke holes in hedgerows or knock down buildings by using bulldozer units? If so how do you do it?
I think that this is possible using engineer units (maybe only vehicles though) but I have never done it and am not sure how.
I assume you'd need to be facing, or on top of, the hex you wish to destroy (same as you would do for mine clearing) but then there is probably a key command to commence destruction. I imagine your unit would need to be unsuppressed (suppressed units would work slower, or not at all, same as mine clearing, or ammo resupply).

Have another look in the instructions or ask at the Shrapnel Steel Panthers forums.
That's where all the guys who play against the AI (mostly) hang out. One of them (or the designers) will know.
Thanks.
I just checked as I was wondering this too, and yes engineers can blow a hole in a hedge using Z fire, it may take more than one attack but you can do it. The hedge will still be shown but it will be labelled as "hedge row hole" at the top in terrain details.
Cool. That will be a big help when fighting in France!
I hold down the shift key as I move my bulldozer into the hex I want to flatten. You can do walls as well.I think AT trenches too. Wire. Not sure if there are turn differences It has been a while so that might have changed.
Follow up units pay a MP penalty. A long time ago (last century) I found myself in a desperate situation. So I rubbled a row of buildings and used a flame thrower to set them on fire. My opponents were coming through but they seemed to have a lot of suppression. A shot or two and they retreated.
You know, in all my games I have never thought of buy a bulldozer, I always wondered why they were in the game. It wouldn't help in my current game as it is a scenario, but I feel silly that I never thought of it. And come to think of it I have never seen an opponent use them either.
The IDF attaches 1 to every MBT coy when operating in an Urban environment. I think. That might be politics though. Media goes crazy if you blow a building full of people into small bloody chunks but doesn't even raise an eyebrow over pushing a building down on top of them. The IDF is practical and they figure dead is dead. The less fuss, the better.
Any Class #37 "Engineer vehicle" is capable of flattening a building, in game, safely (ie without getting stuck).
It may also be true of all Mine Plough / mine clearing tank class too, unsure.

As for the blowing holes in terrain, hedgerows, etc - I believe you are mistaken, the description Hedgerow hole means that there is a hedgerow AND a hole (in the ground) in the hex NOT that there is a hole in the hedgerow. Check after a Heavy artillery barrage many terrain types can also have "holes" - shellholes. Slightly advantageous as cover for stationary inf and slightly harder (higher cost) to move through for all units. I do not believe it is possible to "destroy" terrain - other than bridges and changing buildings to rubble.
I remember there being a way to remove trees from the map, thus 'destroying' terrain.
You have to use engineers but I don't recall the exact command needed.

Good call re. 'holes' being noted HE damage rather than a hole in the bocage.
I have a feeling you are correct as far as this goes.

Maybe Weasel needs to find the command for foliage destruction...or he can keep driving his armour through the 'gaps' and see how many get stuck :-)
