Hi Gents: :smoke:

It will be in this thread that I keep a running list of all revisions / changes that have been identified by the Terror on Tarakan play testers.

Many thanks to all play testers for your feedback! cheers

Terror on Tarakan ver. 1.0 - Round 1 testing has closed. I will gather play tester feedback as games conclude and input feedback into Terror on Tarakan ver. 1.1 (2/20/2010)

Current game version testing (Version 1.0)

Terror on Tarakan (Version 1.1)

1. Add No Banzai to scenario description.
2. Set Japanese OP fire to zero (sniper and 1st line garrison platoons)
3. Add scenario photo
4. Replace Light Recon unit (Allied) with higher strength unit (e.g. a Wasp or Bren MG Carrier)
5. Add ** to scenario name ----> ** Terror on Tarakan

Two bmps that would have to be cut down to size:
Capture10.bmp
Capture21.bmp

I'd use Capture10 for when I am the Japanese and Capture21 for when I am the Aussies. ;)

Wasp no.
MMG Carrier yes.

Toni and I are almost done the first go. We'll switch sides and get back to action when we are finished.

Hi Ed & All!

Need some assistance from someone who is more "file savy" then me! :eek1:

I've attached to this post a .bmp file that I would like to use for my Terror on Tarakan scenario picture... but even when I crop it down to the specified 256 pixels wide by 125 pixels high... when I insert it into the Rising Sun directory... and bring up the scenario... it does not display in the scenario photo window... everything is black. When I remove the "offending" .bmp file, then the standard U.S. & Japanese tanks display.

Help please!
I think it may be a resolution issue?
I tried the same thing when attempting to make bmp's for East Front.

cheers

Hi Mike,

[attachment=2716]

Not sure what's going on, but try one of these. One is RGB (even though there's no color, and one's greyscale. My thinking is it's a color depth problem. Also, I cropped them to your stated dimensions.

Let me know. Can it be anything other than a BMP, like a jpg?

Hi Dave:

Really appreciate your assistance!

Unfortunately, neither one of your modified files worked. Still experiencing a "blank" scenario photo issue. Also, I made sure that I renamed your files with a .bmp extension. MWTarakan.bmp

Well, don't need to have a unique scenario photo, but would be nice.

Maybe Jason could assist here?
Hmmm. I called up one of the bmp's from a working scenario. The greyscale one I gave you used those exact settings. My suspicion is that it's not the image that's causing the problem, but the way the program call it up. If I'm right, then it's a question for the Jason Petho and the Matrix boys.

I can tell you, depending on the programming language, it's important that the file be named exactly. In other words, it the program says call up picture Mike.bmp and you've named it mike.bmp it won't work.

Where do you tell the program to insert the picture? Is it coded somewhere or do you name it the same name as the scenario and it's automatic? If the latter, try naming it Mwtarakan.bmp. Doubt it will work, but give it a shot...stranger things.
