Hi Gents! :smoke:

Ed and I have worked out the initial kinks in my Rising Sun scenario Terror on Tarakan... and I'm now in need of some men to step forward and play test it with me! Eek

You may download the game files and register for play testing here ----> Terror on Tarakan

Terror on Tarakan is a Complexity 4, 15 turn scenario that features engineers, Matilda tanks, commandos, garrison troops, and snipers. Tough battle for both sides across heavily forested hills, jungles, and flooded, swampy terrain.

The RS scenario has already gone through 6 rounds of initial human versus human play testing, so players will be testing a proven design that is a tense and exciting contest for both sides!

New RS scenarios are few and far between... so here is your chance to help add another H2H tested game for all players to enjoy!

Sunny and deadly Tarakan awaits... who will answer the call?

Register, download, and play test Terror on Tarakan today!

It is highly recommended that play testers for Terror on Tarakan play it blind! Please do NOT open and review scenario prior to play.

Terror on Tarakan (May 7, 1945)

Tarakan: [H2H] [HISB] [GD] Following three weeks of intensive air and naval attacks that destroyed all Japanese aircraft on Tarakan and forced the majority of the Japanese garrison forces to retreat inland, the Australian 2/23rd Battalion and 2/48th Battalion of the 26th Brigade Group, in the early morning hours of 1 May, supported by a heavy air and naval bombardment, made an amphibious landing near Roach. Encountering only light resistance, the Australians quickly advanced east into Tarakan Town and north towards the airstrip - securing both by 5 May. But, in order to secure the island and protect the airstrip from attack, the 26th Brigade Group was forced to clear the Japanese from Tarakan's heavily forested hills. The 2/3rd Pioneer Battalion, 2/4th Commando Squadron and support troops were assigned the responsibility of securing the south-eastern portion of Tarakan. On 7 May the Pioneers begain advancing east of Tarakan Town, but encountered unexpectedly strong Japanese resistance centered around two prominent hill features nicknamed "Helen" and "Sadie." Here, the remnants of the 455th Independent Infantry Battalion, 2nd Naval Garrison Force, and Japanese civilian oil workers, commanded by Major Tokoi, were dug into positions on either side of a trail known as John's Track. Securing the interior just got a lot harder! [All: N EA: N VV: No Banzai]

Hi Gents: :smoke:

Initial play tester feedback on the opening moves in Terror on Tarakan

"Well, the opening move for me was full of surprises. With defenders dug in along my route of advance it is causing me to stop and take care of them before moving very far."

"I think it is a challenging scenario from the very beginning."

"Muy interesante. Sneaky Japanese ambushes. Dismount!!"

Tired of the Eastern and Western Front theaters?

Ready to do battle in the sunny Pacific?

Looking for an exciting and tense contest from the start?

Then step up... and accept the challenge! :smoke:

Warning: Terror on Tarakan is not for the faint hearted. Make sure your boots are laced on tight for this one! :smoke:

It does not look like folks are "breaking down the door" to help play test my scenario? :chin:

I'll play test it with you. :)

I'll register our game and send you the game files.

Thank you sir! cheers

Really need some "non-game designer" matches to help play test Terror on Tarakan

How about it gents? :smoke:
Mike, I am wondering where all those "there is nothing going on here" members who could step up to the plate and help make scenarios more balanced and fun? :chin:

Keep trying. Maybe some more will read and help out. :smoke:

cheers

I highly recommend folks try this scenario. It would be an excellent one to play online.
It is small enough to make it easy to complete a turn without too much trouble but still exciting.
