Hey, thought i'd create a little place to share our experiences of this tourney.

Of course everyone can look at this thread and i hope non competitors will view this thread and comment, as long as they don't pass on intel to the enemy ;)

I'll start out with the start of my battle in the center.

As you can see, I have set up a strongpoint in the middle, my left flank is also heavily covered. The right flank I have left fairly undefended but if Herroberst tries to cross his inf there my MGs should take care of that and should hopefully soak up any armor he has.

If herroberst takes the most likely avenue of approach (down the middle/my left) There will be one hell of an engagement, casualties on both sides will be high but i hope to turn this area into a meat grinder.
Thanks for doing a little DAR for the club. Now seeing as I know what's comming and from where, I will limit my comments but would like to ask a few questions.
Is your overall plan to hold fast or to make a somewhat suprise hit and run throughout the battle?
What do you consider the strong points of your forces and where are you the weakest?
Have you played herroberst before? what do you think you can expect from him?
So far a very nice looking DAR, hope that everyone enjoys it.
My weaknesses are definatly the reg troops and a decisive lack of AT weapons, the inf have rifle grenades but the range on them is limited.

I am going to hold fast for as long as I can, if he tries to flank me he should get a face/side full of MG fire. I hope to draw all his inf into the middle and grind them up there.

I am currently playing an inf only battle against herroberst and know that he is an extremely accomplished player.
Thanks for writing this DAR, Joonny! English is not my native language so it's quite time consuming for me to write this kind of stuff and I'm in the middle of my exams right now. Anyway, I really appreciate what you guys are doing!

Keep up the good work! I'll help whenever I can. cheers
No worries chuck, just keep us informed of the important stuff :)
Turn nr 3 and we have contact!
Enemy Infantry units have been spotted moving Westwards.
At the moment our Mgs are engaging the enemy.
More will follow as situation developes.
Over and out.
Any indications on size or is it too early to tell?
3 enemy infantry icons only.
The weird thing is that they were advancing in open ground.
They are either a recon group trying to gather intel for our defences or a decoy force to take our attention away from the place in which the actuall effort is going to take place.
Either way they are pinned by our Mg fire and i dont think that they will make any progress at all at least following the open ground approach.
Turn 8 and 13 enemy infantry icons have been spotted so far.
KG's Intel Offizier estimates that the enemy force spotted so far is around company size.
No sign of enemy armour yet .
Our MGs are harrasing the enemy's advance and by the lack of enemy fire we can assess that our
positions are still unknown to the enemy.
Turn 5 and my men spotted two enemy infantry advancing over the open ground on our left flank about 500m in front of our position. Reinforcements have arrived, two MG34s and two 20mm Flak. Will be positioning them in the rear in case the enemy penetrates our flanks and tries encirclement. Troops at the MLR are all hidden with the small covered arcs. My intention is to let the enemy come as close as possible before opening fire.
Suspected avenues of approach are down the road and across the open ground on my left.
On my right I placed four half-squads to observe that part of the line.
My strong point is in center, on the crossroad.
My only worry is lack of some serious AT power.

Any suggestions?
