Ok, something else to bring the boys around. What was the very first computer you owned?

My first was an Apple II+ with a wopping 48 meg of ram, and a single 5 1/4 floppy drive. I then upgraded it to the max 64 meg ram and two 5 1/4 drives. Woohoo. My first computer games were Gettysburg, Shiloh, and Panzer Leader, all by SSI. Pretty state of the art back then with the cool computer speaker effects. I believe that was back in 1990.
Mine was a Sinclair ZX81 with a 16k RAM pack that had to be stuck in the back with no sound a flat keyboard and games that had to be loaded from a normal tape recorder....making sure to get the volume just right or you wasted 10 minutes loading time. Eek

cheers
Oh yeah, I remember those old tape recorder computers. Boy my Apple was state of the art compared to that!
Mine was KTX with a monster 200Mhz processor and a whole 1Gb hard drive and a 14k modemEek

My first games were all SSI and my favorites were The 'Great Naval Battles' series.
Yeah the old Sinclair computers, the ZX80, ZX81 and the Spectrum could best be described as State Of The Ark. My ZX81 is now a novelty door wedge as it was the perfect shape for it. LOL

cheers
I had IBM 286/12 SX
40 meg HDD,
1 MB ram
diamond 512kb video card
14.4 modem
5.25 floppy drive
3.5 floppy drive

I actually started playing PCs only because a friend showed me Second Front and Armada 2525 one night while we were drinking and got bored of the nintendo so he went home and bought his PC over.. we stayed up all night and well into the next night before we were overcome by nature

I've been hooked ever since..

The SSI games ruled then, GNB was awesome
Does anyone remember the SSG games too? Carriers at War was one neat game

I think the best games I ever played on that PC tho were Monkey Island and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe

Yep, I remember the SSG games. I borrowed a friends Carriers At War but it was way too complicated to get into so I stuck with Panzer Leader. My first flight sim was Battle Of Britian.

My second computer was also a 286 12Mhz which cost me $1200! That price would get you a nice system now!
First compuer I had was an Atari 800 with 2mb of ram. The optional 2mb ram exapnsion was another 80.00. The computer only played cartridge type games but Ultima 2 was cool!

Then went to the Franklin Ace 1000 which Apple computer promptly sued for Franklin copied Apples autoboot system. Then went to the Apple IIe.

Man I am old :)

Anone remember the Commodore 64 Beep beep beep beep beep beep tape drive?
Anyone remember North Atlantic 85? First modern warfare game from SSI. I have been searching for the silly game forever and cant seem to find it :(
