Seems like the American will have a hard time withdrawing in good order. Too much open ground and too many Germans shooting at them. But a fun scenario.

Has a major flaw in H2H, the American side does not have to make a fighting retreat, just has to sit there defend. This makes it very hard for the German player, since the Germans have neither the numbers nor the quality to take on the Americans in a "normal" attack/defence scenario. Avoid for H2H, might work well as Germans vs. the AI.

The game is slightly pro-Allies because the onus for success is on the Germans. The Germans start with the initiative in terms of placement and maneuver. They also have superior firepower. They seem to have many MG-42s which are squad and morale breakers. The Americans are boxed in and have a narrow window for movement. They must be careful not to expose themselves when they do move. However, the Americans only need to hold on to the rally point, not to take significant casualties, and to reduce German forces. This is not as easy as it may sound, but it does allow the Americans to sit back a little. However, the Americans cannot lose the middle. Controlling the path to the rally point is important. The Germans have the challenge of advancing to capture the rally point. The fields are one means to get there, but they risk exposure. Using the town for cover is the best way for the Germans to reach and assault the rally point. Getting into and controlling that corridor is the problem for the Germans. The Germans must use their firepower to suppress the Americans and take objectives. On the other hand, the Americans must avoid being picked apart. To some extent the Americans need to withdraw towards the rally point. However, the time that they have to do so is limited and they risk creating gaps in the rest of their perimeter of defense if they do not pick strategic locations to defend against German assaults.

If the Germans pursue the Americans very aggressively from the very start they can make it difficult for them to retreat to the Rally area with their forces intact.

Well played by Zeke , It starts off easy as Germans but quickly goes down hill the closer you get to the rally point, my Germans quickly tired and did not recover well, as I had to press them hard.
