22 October, 1941: Spies had reported the sailing of Home-bound Gibraltar 75 to Berlin. Group Breslau was formed to intercept the convoy. Despite Enigma decrypts, the convoy sailed, albeit a week later than scheduled. The pack made contact late on the first night and tried to penetrate the heavy escort screen. Relying on radar, the escorts were able to successfully keep the wolfpack at bay.
