Coruna, 16th January 1809 - The historical Battle. After a grueling retreat, the British army under Sir John Moore had intended to embark at Coruna without engaging the enemy. Unfortunately, the ships failed to arrive in time and, with most of his artillery already on the ships, Moore was obliged to accept battle on unfavorable terms.

Bloody fight. Superior British infantry vs French combined arms in rugged terrain.

Too defensive for the Allies

Mapa más bien pequeño y terreno muy escarpado poco apropiado para la caballería. La proximidad de la noche, que implica el final de la batalla, impide resultados decisivos. En este caso los Aliados se han visto favorecidos por este hecho.

A cherished scenario that evokes me my old Clash of arms La batalla des Corunna boardgame. An interesting battle where the red coats have no cavalry nor almost artillery but a difficult terrain helps them.
