Scenario Briefing: Tilly ambushes Brunswick "What if" - Historically, Brunswick waited days for Mansfeld's army to join him at Hochst to confront the Catholic League forces under Tilly, but Mansfeld had been defeated in a minor action at Lorsch on 10th June and had then fallen back to Mannheim, taking no part in the subsequent battle at Hochst on 20th June. This scenario assumes that Tilly didn't cross the Main river and attack Brunswick from the north, but sent false reports urging him to cross the river and march to Mansfeld's assistance. Tilly would then be able to ambush and attack Brunswick's unsuspecting army as it was in the process of crossing the river. However, perhaps Mansfeld would turn up in time to participate in the battle after all?

Note: Best played as the Catholic (Imperialist) side against the Anti-Imperialist A/I or else Head-to-Head.
