9 May 1800 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - This variant explores the possibility that Kray could have placed his entire army west of the Riss River. The French arrive to find the entire Austrian force facing them. The Bavarians are set up to watch for Ney's arrival. Ney's division will arrive sometime in the afternoon via variable entry. The Austrian 3rd and 4th Kolonnes start the battle fixed but will release during the first two hours of the battle. IMPORTANT MAP NOTE: There are special fords on the map. Each has a map tag. They cross the Riss River north and south of Biberach. They use the "Rail" terrain and the players will have to check the "Terrain Info" for the hex to see which hexside of the Riss River the ford crosses. Only infantry in column or skirmishers may use these fords. There is no terrain graphic for "Rail" terrain. Each tag has a compass aid to help the players to know which hexsides are fords. Thus a "NW-SE" ford means that the "Rail" terrain crosses the river from the northwest to the southeast. To show the map tags press the Space Bar.
