18 May 1794 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - See the document "SSR_Tourcoing.pdf" in the SSR folder for special scenario rules to be used during play for a more historical experience. Note: This scenario is heavily balanced towards the French player. It has been included purely for historical purposes. It is highly recommended that the players try one of the variant situations. Historical Narrative: The Allied columns had not linked up on the 17th as planned. Clerfayt was had built two pontoon bridges and was finally getting troops across during the night. Now as the 18th dawned the Allies could see the French columns advancing from the north, northeast and also from Lille to the southwest. York had kept the bridges open over the Marcq River in hopes that Kinsky and Karl would need them but now instead it would be the remainder of Bonnaud's forces that would be using them! Historically, Clerfayt did not push his assault. Realizing that Vandamme was dug in very well to his front he halted his advance. Can the Allies link up and spoil the French attack?
