Single Battle -The Battle of Maloyaroslavets, Two Days (104 turns, Large) - October 24, 1812 - Despite the importance of the Battle of Maloyaroslavets, neither side committed the total forces that were available. This scenario assumes that both sides realize a Russian victory or even draw will doom the Grand Armee to retreat over roads which lead through the exhausted and burnt out regions that they had advanced earlier.

The French shouldn’t try to attack the city before they’ve gathered enough strength.

I’m not completely sure if this is a bug in the scenario, but I noticed something odd: at the start of the game, the French infantry brigade closest to Maloyaroslavets (1st Brigade of the 13th Division) has no brigade commander. The officer located at the Maloyaroslavets church is listed only as the brigade adjutant, but in versions 1d (046) and the historical version (047) he is the brigade commander. So it seems those two scenarios don’t have this issue.
