Scenario length – 8.5 hours June 4, 1942 [Hypothetical] As the intelligence picture about the impending Japanese assault on Midway began to clear up, a dispute broke out between Admiral Nimitz at Pearl Harbor and Admiral Ernest King in Washington. Admiral King wanted to commit the battleline (Task Force One) to the operation. Admiral Nimitz resisted this, feeling that the battleships were too slow to be useful, and would require air protection he did not have available. Historically, the Battleships were left behind. This scenario assumes that King won the argument and the battleships sailed to Midway.
