May 4, 1942 [Hypothetical] Historically, the Shokaku and Zuikaku were to ferry fighters to Rabaul before proceeding to their position for the attack on Port Moresby. However, poor weather delayed this operation. This allowed the Yorktown to launch an uncontested raid on a small Japanese force setting up a seaplane base at Tulagi. In this hypothetical battle, the Japanese were able to keep to their planned schedule. Yorktown is launching the strike force against Tulagi, but the Japanese carriers are ENE of Guadalcanal.
