Scenario length – 6 hours [Hypothetical] It is often forgotten that the Japanese took a considerable risk by attacking Pearl Harbor. With the attacks in Malaysia and the Dutch East Indies set to start, even if the IJN fleet was discovered, they would not simply be able to turn away. This scenario assumes that the US had 3-4 days advance notice of the attack on Pearl Harbor. As such, the US Pacific Fleet has been able to sortie from the port, as well as recall the carriers which were at sea. It is also assumed the Japanese Consulate in Honolulu was able to warn the IJN that the Pacific Fleet had sailed. As such, the Japanese aircraft are still on board the carriers.
