Crusade: Period between 1st and 2nd Crusade

Scenario Briefing: After their victory at the Battle of Sarmin in 1115, the Crusaders were slowly moving toward Aleppo. Its capture would solidify the position of the Crusader states and in particular, the Principality of Antioch. To reverse this unacceptable Crusader advance, Aleppo's new ruler, Najm al-Din Ilghazi ibn Artuq attacked the Principality of Antioch in 1119.

This scenario depicts the impatience of Roger, the regent of the Principality of Antioch, and his desire to attack with the hopes of repeating his 1115 victory. The battle would, as usual, have the Crusaders vastly outnumbered nearly 3-1. But boldness and over-confidence was never lacking among the Crusaders and their desire for capturing booty. Time will tell if Roger can repeat his victory or suffer the fate of hubris.
