(Hypothetical) Archduke John, hearing of Napoleon's victories in Bavaria chooses not to retire towards Hungary, but instead he skirts the Tyrol, and, joining with Jelacic menaces Napoleon's supply lines. However, now, with the French closing in, he has chosen to try to make good his escape to the other side of the Danube to rejoin Charles near Linz.
