21 April 1809(H) - Napoleon has crossed the Danube and has sent out patrols to seek the location of the Austrian army. His men advance to the villiages of Aspern and Essling. More troops are expected to arrive. The Austrians are sending down logs and rams to destroy the bridges. They succeed in knocking out a section of the bridge thus stalling any reinforcements. Now the Hapsburg columns start debouching along the plain. Hiller's First Column heads the attack with a total of five columns on the move! The French-Allies dig in and await the start of the first day of battle!
