(Play as USA, W stands for Weather data is used) As the winter of 1864 was beginning to approach the Petersburg front, General Meade planned one more push to extend the Union lines westward, and cut the supplies needed by Lee's defending Confederates. The plan was to employ three of the Union's four corps, turn the ANV's right beyond Hater's Run and cut the South Side Railroad. On October 24th, Grant approved Meade's plan, and preparations were made to attack with a striking force of between 30,000 and 35,000 troops. However, on the day of the strike, October 27th, the plan quickly fell apart, and only one of the three intended corps was in position to conduct an assault. This was Hancock's II Corps. It was to CSA General Heth, that the defense of the Confederate right was given. In this scenario, the Union will be tasked to exit at three different hexes as any troops as can be exited off the map. Only troops exited from one of these three hexes will additional points be gained. Exiting units will be essential to victory. NOTE: To exit a unit and gain victory points, move the unit to an exit hex, click on the "Command" window, then click "Remove from Map."
