Scenario seemed interesting at first glance, but with fords being crossable by all unit types, and the Allies holding a troop advantage, the French have no chance.

Because all units can cross at fords, it means the Allies can cross almost anywhere they want. And when across, it's a big map with a lot of objectives. The French tried to hold the river line and that I think is a mistake. The 1000 man Austrian units are far stronger than any French batallion. And the allies have a lot of men with the addition of the Russians.
