19 April 1796 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Following the action at Ceva the French followed up on Colli's Sardinians and found them at the next line of defense near St. Michele. Augereau's men were to attack on the right near the confluence of the Cevetta and Corsaglia Rivers while Sérurier's division was to attack on the left, force a crossing at St. Michele and then roll up the Allied line and then press on to Mondovi. Instead, Augereau found the bridge blown in his sector and never was able to get across the river due to the swift moving current. Sérurier's men initially were unable to cross due to the artillery fire but found an aquaduct which crossed the Corsaglia River to the south of the bridge. The men pressed on to the town and routed the force there only to fall to looting. Colli rallied his men and counterattacked the French and drove them back over the river. While the days of the Army of the Kingdom of Sardinia would be short they had succeeded in stopping a determined French attack.
