17 October 1813 - Alternate - Intended to be played Head to Head - For the 17th of October only limited fighting would occur. The weather conditions were not good for battle. Along with this the Army of Bohemia had taken severe losses and was not in any condition to fight. Only the Army of Silesia showed any desire to fight the French. Bennigsen would arrive later in the day but too late to influence the outcome. Colleredo's 1st Korps would arrive during the morning but in a fatigued condition after their long march. However, the Allied player may decide that this could be a good opportunity to wear down Napoleon even further and deplete his ranks so that the battle on the 18th could be decisive. The French still held their forward positions in the south. Can the Allies' assault cost Napoleon precious troops better kept for the battle on the 18th or will this turn out to be an Allied debacle? Weather will diminish the movement, firing and meleeing abilities of the troops. Note: losses from the previous day have been removed from the units involved. Thus many units are reduced in size.
