10 June 1807 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Once the attack by Soult's IV Corps against the redoubts had failed the battle should have been over but Lannes insisted that his corps have a part in the battle. Up until then none of his formations had taken part in the assaults so once Verdier's 2nd Division of the Reserve Corps had finally taken its place in the line Lannes ordered his men to attack Redoubt #3 which up to this point had been untouched by the battle. By this time it was night and perhaps Lannes felt that Verdier had a chance of success by attacking under cover. Verdier's men did their very best. Part of the division did in fact breach the redoubt but they were thrown back with massive loss (2,000+ men). The last act of the Battle of Heilsberg was over. The Russians had defeated Napoleon's army. Note: this is pretty much a hopeless situation for the French. Play one of the variant scenarios for a more challenging situation for the Russian player.
