10 June 1807 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Once Bagration's Advance Guard had retreated to the main Russian line the French halted for a short break. Soult and Murat were zealous for renewing the assault and by 5pm the attack was underway. St. Cyr's 2nd Division and St. Hilaire's 1st Division assaulted Redoubt #1 while Legrand's 3rd Division assaulted Redout #2. Both sides fought with a barbaric fierceness commonplace for the campaign in which quite often no quarter was given. St. Cyr's men endured a terrible bombardment as they advanced causing them to halt. St. Hilaire's men moved through the gaps in their formation and actually captured part of Redoubt #1 before eventually being thrown out by a strong counterattack. Legrand's division suffered the same fate. After three hours of some of the harshest fighting in the Napoleonic Wars the French attack was over. The Russians had prevailed. NOTE: This scenario is included for historical purposes only and highly favors the Allied (Russian) player. For a better experience try one of the Variant scenarios.
