26 December 1806 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - This is the historical battles using a dual map format. The Russians were retreating at both locations but at Pultusk were willing to take a stand and parry the blows of Lannes' V Corps. There was a lack of unified command at Golymin. Bennigsen commanded the Russians at Pultusk but Lannes' was pretty much on his own. D'Aultanne showed up later to prolong the carnage and perhaps save Lanne's V Corps from further damage. This scenario allows the players to play both battles at once. Note: a large map scenario will not profit the players as the mud made long marches almost impossible. Once Napoleon issued the orders to march it became a "crap shoot" as to whether the French would be able to bring the Russians to battle. Sending Lannes alone to Pultusk was not one of his stellar choices in his military career. Player Notes: All fighting and movement should cease on the Pultusk map by the 4:50pm turn. Once night came Lannes ceased all offensive operations. Play continues normally on the Golymin map to reflect the night action as the Russians attempted to retreat. Note: Several of the French supply wagons are reduced on purpose to denote the problems with dragging the wagons to the battlefield. Also: the French artillery ammunition may not be insufficient. This is by design.
